President Barack Obama should have avoided his current trip to China because the country is stealing U.S. jobs and hurting the U.S. economy, Donald Trump says.
"They're putting on a big show because they want to keep the money coming in. We're the ones that paid for that show," Trump said Monday on Fox News Channel's
"On the Record with Greta Van Susteren"
"When it comes to ISIS, where are they to help us? They're the biggest beneficiary of Iraqi oil and oil reserves . . . When it comes to Ebola, where are they to help us with west Africa?" Trump continued.
The billionaire businessman has long criticized China for manipulating its currency to gain a competitive advantage over U.S. businesses.
He said Obama at least should have avoided the public celebrations that are part of the meetings and instead "have a really strong talk with these folks."
The United States has the upper hand, he said, because if it ever pulled back from investing in China, the latter would be in trouble.
"Let them come to him," Trump said. "We have literally rebuilt China."
The U.S. negotiating ability under Obama is a "joke" compared to China's, Trump said.
"He shouldn't be over there celebrating the fact that they're ripping us off," he said.
