Now that former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has jumped into the crowded race for the 2020 Democratic nomination, his record is coming under heavy scrutiny -- especially from his party's left.

Politico.com reported the left sees strong donor support for Patrick and fellow centrist Michael Bloomberg as "an attempt to crush an ascendant left wing" before it can enact a massive government expansion.
