Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal is vowing his nation's planned counteroffensive will push the Russians out of occupied lands in Ukraine.
He made his comments in an interview with The Hill posted Tuesday.
Asked how the recent document leaks are impacting planning for Ukraine's counteroffensive, Shmyhal replied that "Ukraine will liberate its lands.
"We have proven multiple times that we can do it. From our international partners, we ask for more military capabilities, like tanks, ammunition, planes, armored vehicles."
Shmyhal said the counteroffensive could begin as late as the summer. He noted the pressure to launch the counteroffensive in more intense from inside Ukraine.
"We do not feel the pressure from our friends and partners vis-à-vis the start of the offensive," he said. "All of our friends and partners do comprehend clearly that in order to go into counteroffensive, one must be 100%, and even more percent prepared to do so."
His comment came ahead of his visit to Washington on Tuesday and amid a critical intelligence leak that included a candid U.S. assessment of his nation's dwindling air defense ammunition, The Hill noted.
Meanwhile, the leak looks like a Russian disinformation operation to sow doubts about Ukraine's planned counteroffensive, a Ukrainian presidential official said on Friday.
Mykhailo Podolyak told Reuters that the leaked data contained a "very large amount of fictitious information" and that Russia was trying to seize back the initiative in its invasion.
"These are just standard elements of operational games by Russian intelligence. And nothing more," he said in a written statement.
