Rodman's North Korea Trip to Become Hollywood Comedy

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman's controversial trip to North Korea is being turned into a Hollywood comedy movie, according to Time.com.

The rights to the film "Diplomats," inspired by the Rodman's "hoops diplomacy" mission to the despotic nation, have been brought by 20th Century Fox. The project will be led by Tim Story, director of the hit movie "Ride Along," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rodman, also known as "The Worm," came under fire last year when he paid a visit to North Korea and became friends with dictator Kim Jong Un, who recently had his uncle executed.

In January, the eccentric celebrity went back to the troubled country, which has an appalling human rights record, and put on a basketball game with other former NBA stars in Pyongyang. He even sang "Happy Birthday" to Kim during the event.

In an interview with CNN, Rodman angrily defended his mission to North Korea and his relationship with Kim, saying, "I love my friend. This is my friend."
