Democratic Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota both say they are weighing a presidential bid in 2020, The Washington Post reports.
“I will consider running for president,” Booker told NJ Advance Media in an interview released Sunday. “That’s something that I will do. There’s people in New Jersey who are talking to me about it, across the country that are talking to me about it, so I will consider that.”
ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos asked Klobuchar on “This Week” on Sunday if she is “looking at the 2020 race for president.”
The senator said, “people are talking to me about this… But right now, I am just still thinking about this, talking to people. I’m sorry to say, I have no announcement for you on your show.”
Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown also admitted on “This Week” on Sunday that he is “seriously thinking about” a bid, saying that he and his wife are “overwhelmed” by how many people have suggested it.
“We’re seriously talking about it with family and friends and political allies who have come to me about this,” the senator said.
And Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a Republican, also said in an interview with ABC that he is “very seriously” thinking about running for president, but he did not specify the 2020 race.
