Democrats are now using the "stolen election" tactic President Donald Trump and other Republicans have used in recent years, The Washington Post is reporting.

Trump cited voter fraud in the 2016 election and accused Democrats of foul play in their bid to win the tight Florida Senate and governor’s races, the newspaper noted.

And Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. recently accused Democrats of planning to steal the Florida elections.

But now Democrats are using the same language to describe Republican efforts, the Post said. Hillary Clinton said Georgia’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams already would have been declared the winner in the still contested election if the race had been "fair."

Unofficial results in the contest give Republican Brian Kemp a slim majority over Abrams.

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J. said the "election is being stolen from" Abrams.

And Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, said: "If Stacey Abrams doesn’t win in Georgia, they stole it."

The Post maintained it is notable Democrats have made the decision to use the "stolen election" tactic.

They apparently believe the Georgia race is an opportunity to focus on alleged voter suppression – an issue that has not gained much interest from voters, the newspaper said.
