At least 16 Democratic presidential candidates will participate in a Planned Parenthood forum on reproductive rights, The New York Times is reporting.

The event is scheduled for June 22 in Columbia, S.C. It is being hosted by Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the political arms of Planned Parenthood.

Those candidates participating will be questioned about where they stand on issue like abortions rights and contraception.

Those candidates attending include: former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana.

"It's crystal clear that access to reproductive healthcare — including safe, legal abortion — is a top issue heading into 2020," said Kelley Robinson, the group's executive director. "If the 13 million-plus Planned Parenthood supporters turn out to the polls and activate their networks, they can tip the 2020 election."

The forum comes after several states in recent weeks have enacted laws that outlaw abortion in some or all forms – legislation that goes against the 1973 Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion nationwide.
