Former Boston Red Sox pitcher and Donald Trump supporter Curt Schilling will host a daily online radio show for Breitbart, New York Magazine reports.
According to the magazine, the show, to be announced Monday, will feature political commentary and calls from listeners, and eventually include a video livestream.
The move comes six months after ESPN booted Schilling for sharing an anti-transgender Facebook post, writing: "A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic."
"He got kicked off ESPN for his conservative views," Breitbart editor in chief Alex Marlow told New York Magazine. "He’s a really talented broadcaster."
New York Magazine's Gabriel Sherman reports the move to Breitbart will give Schilling "a national platform as he prepares to challenge Elizabeth Warren for her Senate seat in 2018."
And for Trump campaign CEO – and Breitbart Executive Chairman Steve Bannon – "it offers a chance to lock down talent for a post-election venture with Trump."
Schilling drew heat last Friday for asking CNN's Jake Tapper why many Jewish voters support the Democratic Party,
but defended himself on MSNBC's "Hard Ball."
"I'm apparently an anti-Semite now because ... I have the audacity to ask someone of the Jewish faith why and how they believe people of the Jewish faith vote Democrat," Schilling said.
"I mean, God forbid, I listen to someone of the faith rather than the media who clearly are not biased and don't have an agenda."
