Hillary and Bill Clinton watched “Wonder Woman” at a special screening at a Brooklyn movie theater over the weekend, The Hill reported on Sunday.
The couple and their guests saw the film at Alamo Drafthouse, which was criticized when the chain held female-only screenings of the film when it opened earlier in the summer.
The theater tweeted about the special visitors on Sunday.
Clinton mentioned publicly in June when the movie came out that “I haven’t seen “Wonder Woman” yet, but I’m going to,” sify movies reported. “Something tells me that a movie about a strong, powerful woman fighting to save the world from a massive international disaster is right up my alley.”
Alamo Drafthouse spokesman Mike Sampson told the HuffPost that arrangements for the screening were made after Clinton made that statement, and the theater sent out an invitation for her to see it.
“We were happy to set up a private screening, for which they organized the guest list,” Sampson said. “We were obviously thrilled to have them as guests at our theater and they have an open invitation to return any time in the future.”
