Hillary Clinton took aim Wednesday at the Trump administration’s work “to tear down hard-earned civil rights."
During her commencement address to graduates of Hunter College in New York City, the former secretary of state and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee referenced President Donald Trump’s travel ban — which she termed a “Muslim ban” — and his administration’s zero-tolerance immigration policy.
The comments begin at the 10:05-minute mark.
“This administration has too often worked to tear down hard-earned civil rights,” Clinton said.
She also railed at the now-rescinded immigration policy that allowed children to be separated from their illegal immigrant families, calling it a policy of “"tearing children from the arms of their parents at the border and locking them in cages.”
“How many will never see their parents again?” she asked.
“Make no mistake, we are witnessing an assault on the rule of law and the foundations of our democracy,” Clinton added.
