A Christian Sudanese woman sentenced to hang for apostasy will be "freed within days," a foreign ministry official told AFP on Saturday.
Meriam Ibrahim, whose father was Muslim, was condemned to death on May 15 under the Islamic sharia law that has been in place since 1983 and outlaws conversions under pain of death, triggering an international outcry.
She is married to Daniel Wani, a U.S. citizen and a Christian, was jailed and faces execution for failing to recant Christianity.
She gave birth to a baby girl in a women's prison on Tuesday.
