Rep. Cheri Bustos, D-Ill., was elected to chair the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, The Hill is reporting.
She won out over Reps. Suzan DelBene, D-Wash., and Denny Heck, D-Wash. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y. had dropped out of the race after he was hospitalized with a bacterial infection, The Hill noted.
According to Roll Call, Bustos collected 117 votes to Heck’s 83 and DelBene’s 32.
Bustos currently is the co-chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.
