A beaming Carly Fiorina, fresh off a much-praised appearance on the main stage for the
second GOP presidential candidates' debate, shot a quick 13-second video to help raise cash for her lagging campaign war chest.
In the spot featured on her campaign website, Fiorina opens her video pitch for dough by calling her CNN debate exposure Wednesday night "a wonderful opportunity to introduce myself to more Americans."
Then she got to the point: "We really could use your help so please chip in."
According to USA Today, Fiorina raised $1.7 million through June 30; a super PAC supporting her campaign collected nearly $3.5 million. Jeb Bush has raised $120 million through his campaign, political action committee and a super PAC.
"Right now, this campaign doesn’t have the financial resources to go head-to-head against our deep-pocketed opponents," Fiorina's deputy campaign manager Sarah Isgur Flores wrote in an email appeal after the debate's end, USA Today reports.
"Our momentum's in danger of being buried under an avalanche of heavy political spending and shameful attack ads."
Campaign spokeswoman Anna Epstein wouldn't divulge how much money Fiorina has raised, USA Today reports.
