Caitlyn Jenner says she is very disappointed President Donald Trump has "not been doing a very good job" on the issue of transgender rights.
Jenner, the former Olympic athlete and reality television star, made her comments in an interview with Variety.
As a Republican, she had been hopeful when Trump was elected, but noted several of his actions, including his vow to ban transgender people from the military, have sparked her concern.
"I honestly don't know what happened when he got in there," she said. "It was extraordinarily disappointing."
An unnamed source tells Variety that Jenner would like to meet with Trump after the midterms, but away from the press.
"He's not been doing a very good job, but it's not over yet," she said.
Jenner said she remains politically active behind-the-scenes.
"Today, I'm very politically involved," she said. "Nobody really knows it. I do it very quietly because I have been so criticized by the liberal side of the media. I can get more things done if I don't stick my nose into everything publicly."
It is not the first time Jenner, who voted for Trump, has expressed disappointment with his administration's lack of action on gay and transgender issues.
Last year, she told Fox News' Tucker Carlson she never considered Hillary Clinton as an option during the election.
"I would rather convince the Republican Party to do a better job when it comes to LGBT issues than to try to convince the Democrats to lower taxes and lower regulations and let our country thrive, financially, and economically," she said.
