Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh has something someone can hold over him: He is better in court than on one, as The Wall Street Journal chronicled Sunday.
"He likes to succeed at everything he does, so he may pretend that it's all fun and games – trust me . . . he takes it seriously," Don Urgo, a high school classmate from Georgetown Prep in Washington, D.C., told the Journal.
But Kavanaugh is more grinder than phenom, according to Christen Dudley, who played pickup hoops with Kavanaugh at Yale.
"He wasn't the biggest or most athletic or jumped the highest," Dudley told the paper, adding Kavanaugh "worked really hard."
". . . People who are hard workers on the court are usually hard workers off the court as well. That's the case with Brett."
Judge Kavanaugh's Senate confirmation hearings are expected to begin Sept. 4, and if he joins the Supreme Court, he could play in his new building's court on the top floor, which is also known as "the highest court in the land," according to the Journal.
