Michael Bloomberg’s representatives are checking out office space in Manhattan that would serve as his headquarters should he launch a presidential bid, reports Politico.
The billionaire ex-mayor of New York mayor has not declared his candidacy, and so far, the field is crowded in the Democratic Party, with nine lawmakers announcing bids.
Bloomberg, though, would likely be a frontrunner – earlier this week Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett said he would support his candidacy.
Former White House official Anthony Scaramucci said President Donald Trump would be “quietly worried” if Bloomberg ran because he has the “mental discipline” to handle possible challenges posed by Trump.
"The president recognizes that [Bloomberg] has that New York toughness, he's very, very rich," said Scaramucci.
Politico said Bloomberg’s team is eyeing the old New York Times building in Times Square and at 7 World Trade Center as headquarters possibilities and want approximately 30,000 square feet of office space.
