Billionaire Michael Bloomberg, as he prepares to enter the Democratic presidential race, is set to launch a major ad campaign against President Donald Trump.
“This buy is massive,” Ben Taber, an analyst for the television ad tracking firm Advertising Analytics, said in an email to Politico. “We’ve only seen a few one-off stations, but it looks like the buy is going to be at least $10 million for one week. Possibly way more.’
The ads will reportedly begin airing as early as Monday.
Politico is reporting one of the first ad buys came in the West Palm Beach, Florida television market, where President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in located.
Politico noted Advertising Analytics, as of Friday morning, that nearly $1 million in ad reservations had already been made in various local television markets.
And CNBC reported the ad buys appear to be a buildup to Bloomberg’s likely run for president.
A spokesman for Bloomberg did not return a request by CNBC for comment.
However, the network noted Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York City, has filed to compete in various primaries including Texas, Arkansas and Alabama.
