The Republican nominee running for an Illinois House seat reportedly has claimed that the government intentionally blew up a World Trade Center building to destroy CIA documents.
And Bill Fawell, who is challenging incumbent Democratic Rep. Cheri Bustos in Illinois' 17th District, has also alleged that pop superstar Beyoncé Knowles has ties to the sinister and secret society known as the Illuminati, CNN reports.
Fawell, a real estate broker, laid out the theories in blogs and his 2012 book, "New American Revolution: The Constitutional Overthrow of the United States Government," which charges the government with making "shady deals stripping America bare to clothe the parasitic financialization industry."
CNN says Fawell, in his book, pushes a conspiracy theory that 7 World Trade Center was brought down as part of a controlled demolition and the 9/11 attacks were a plot to destroy CIA documents.
"Go to YouTube and punch in 'Building #7' It's the third building that went down with the twin towers on 9/11," Fawell writes, according to CNN.
"If it looks like a standard commercial implosion demolition, it's because that is exactly what it is. It's interesting to note that the clandestine branch of the CIA was housed on the top floor … No personnel were lost, but any and all documents were destroyed, just like a giant shredder."
And in 2013, Fawell posted on the blog of a political action committee he created called Elect a New Congress, that Beyonce's husband, rapper Jay-Z, "has a long history of serving up the godless Illuminati," CNN reports.
CNN said the Illinois Republican Party did not respond to a request for comment.
