Former Vice President Joe Biden blasted President Donald Trump, comparing him to Alabama’s late-Governor George Wallace, who was a vocal opponent of the Civil Rights movement.
During a rally in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, Biden referred to a Washington Post article, which was headlined: "Trump and Republicans settle on fear — and falsehoods — as a midterm strategy."
"No president has ever led by fear,” Biden said. “Not Lincoln. Not Roosevelt. Not Kennedy. Not Reagan. This president is more like George Wallace than George Washington."
Biden’s comments were reported by CNN.
"Democrats have to choose hope over fear, unity over division,” he said. “We have to choose our allies over our enemies. We have to choose truth over lies. We have to choose a brighter future for Americans over this desperate grip of the darkest elements of our past in our society."
A recent CNN poll showed Biden favored over 15 other possible Democratic hopefuls for 2020.
