Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke targeted Facebook ads at people living in Mexico, The Washington Free Beacon is reporting.
The Beacon attributed its information to Facebook tools which allow users to view where a group is targeting sponsored posts.
A paid post promoting his Tuesday campaign appearance in San Diego, California was one of those targeting people in Mexico, according to the Beacon. Details of the appearance were posted on the event page is both English and Spanish, the Beacon reported.
The website reported it received no response from the O’Rourke campaign about the Mexican advertising. However, as of Monday, the campaign’s Facebook page was no longer advertising in Mexico, according to the Beacon.
