The design of former President Barack Obama's presidential center has drawn criticism, with unfavorable comparisons ranging from a "giant toenail" to a "soft-boiled egg in a teacup."
Alex Griswold of The Washington Free Beacon made the "giant toenail" comment in a tweet:
A group of University of Chicago professors also critiqued the center.
"This is a socially regressive plan . . . We also note that the Obama Center has abandoned its original plans to be a presidential library. It will be a private entity with no official connection to the National Archives," the professors wrote.
"To me, it evokes a soft-boiled egg in a teacup," said Ron Grossman in The Chicago Tribune.
Backers of the center hoped to address criticism of the center's design Tuesday by announcing revisions to the design, The Chicago Tribune reported.
