Despite recent reports, former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, R-Calif., said Sunday he is not mulling a run for Senate in 2018.
Schwarzenegger, who reportedly considered running as an independent, will instead keep his focus on lobbying for redistricting reform, he wrote in a Facebook post.
Schwarzenegger has battled in the media with President Donald Trump and now would like to challenge the establishment in Washington on how district lines are drawn up for lawmakers' local elections.
Gerrymandering is the manipulation of voting districts designed to aid one party. Schwarzenegger's home state of California is one of the most liberal states in the U.S., but there are notable divides between the political factions of the cities and more conservative rural areas.
