German Chancellor Angela Merkel was seen shaking again in public on Thursday, but her spokesman insisted she was fine, The New York Times is reporting.
Merkel, 64, was seen struggling to maintain control of her body as she stood near German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier during a ceremony in Berlin, according to the newspaper. She was observed clasping her elbows as her lower body trembled.
She was also seen shaking on June 18 while out in the sun during a visit by President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine. She later blamed high temperatures and said she felt better after drinking water.
Later in the day, she told reporters she was dehydrated but felt better after "at least three glasses of water."
Her appearance on Thursday was indoors at the presidential palace. She planned on leaving for the G-20 meeting in Japan later in the day.
"Everything is continuing as planned; the chancellor is doing well," her spokesman Steffen Seibert said.
The Washington Post reported that Merkel was also seen shaking while visiting Mexico City in 2017.
