Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., said Wednesday there is a problem with former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe's media blitz and comments concerning his push for a counterintelligence investigation of President Donald Trump: "We know he is a liar."
"He got drummed out of the FBI for that," Rep. Biggs told Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "He has the lying to Congress issue and some other motivations going on here."
Now, McCabe wants to "rehabilitate himself" and sell his books, but he has a "lack of judgment," Biggs added.
"When he starts talking about Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, for instance, (he says) they had a personal problem. They had this adulterous relationship."
But he does not get into the fact the two were in positions of power and trying to undermine President Donald Trump's election, Biggs said.
He added he does not believe McCabe's claim he told congressional leaders he was going to investigate Trump, and they did not object. Biggs also rejected McCabe's complaint Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., one of those on the congressional "Gang of Eight," was leaking to the White House as "outrageous."
"Andrew McCabe himself was a leaker, and so I look at it and I said the source of all this stuff is a guy with no credibility," Biggs said.
However, he added, McCabe's disclosures mean a second special counsel investigation is warranted because there were people "trying to get at a sitting president of the United States . . . we have to get to the bottom of it."
