The much-anticipated House vote on the American Health Care Act that was postponed Thursday will happen Friday, the White House insisted.

Deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told The Hill the vote was put on hold to "avoid voting at 3 a.m. [Friday]"

Instead, she told the website, the House GOP's Obamacare replacement bill will come up for a vote later Friday morning.

"The vote will be in the morning," Sanders said. "We feel this should be done in the light of day, not in the wee hours of the night and we are confident the bill will pass in the morning."

The White House, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and other backers of the bill have been working hard in recent days to convince members of the Republican party they should vote in favor of the bill so it can pass and make its way over to the Senate.

During Thursday's White House press briefing, press secretary Sean Spicer said he was confident the bill would pass during tonight's vote and move on to the next phase in the legislative process.

Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) also projected an air of confidence Thursday afternoon before the vote as postponed, saying the measure is "far more conservative" than the one put forth by Republican Sen. Rand Paul, who does not support the current form of the AHCA.
