Zainab Ahmad, who served as a top prosecutor on former special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, is joining the Gibson Dunn law firm as a partner, The Hill is reporting.
The firm said Wednesday that she will work in its New York office as part of the White Collar Defense and Investigations practice.
“I couldn’t be more excited to begin the next chapter of my legal career at Gibson Dunn,” Ahmad said. “Increasingly, clients are facing challenges that span jurisdictions and borders, which makes Gibson Dunn’s global platform very attractive. The firm’s talent pool is impressively deep, and I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues across offices.”
Ahmad had served as a senior member on Mueller’s team of prosecutors. She was involved in former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s guilty plea.
Prior to joining Mueller's office, Ahmad was an assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of New York, who specialized in counterterrorism cases.
