President Biden said he wants to enter into "border security negotiations" with Republican lawmakers.

But he’s actually holding the American people hostage to get something he wants, and violating his oath of office.

On Friday he released a statement claiming that "two months ago, I instructed my team to begin negotiations with a bipartisan group of Senators to seriously, and finally, address the border crisis."

He added, "If given that authority, I would use it the day I sign the bill into law."

There are a number of things about that statement that don’t ring true. You’re probably thinking, "'Blue Collar Joe' Biden dishonest?"

Yup. Shocking, I know, but it’s true.

Example-1: He already has the authority to close the border, just as his predecessor did — and used it. As a result illegal immigration dropped to levels that we hadn’t seen in decades.

Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk observed that "No laws need to be passed. All that is needed is an executive order to require proof before granting an asylum hearing. That is how it used to be."

Example-2: Biden reversed every single border protection order Trump put into place.

He signed an order titled, "Proclamation on the Termination Of Emergency With Respect To The Southern Border Of The United States And Redirection Of Funds Diverted To Border Wall Construction."

The order was dated Jan. 20, 2021, the same day he was sworn into office.

Example 3: The so-called border protection bill proposed by Biden and Senate Democrats won’t reduce illegal immigration — it would promote it by permitting up to 5,000 illegal crossings per day.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, posted to Twitter/X, "This border bill is not designed to fix the problem. It normalizes 5,000 people a day coming in — that's over 1.8 million a year. That’s called an invasion."

He added, "This has 0 chance of passing the House."

Example 4: Biden not only has the authority to protect the border without congressional approval, he has the obligation to do so, and arguably violated his oath of office to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States":

Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution provides that, "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion[.]"

As Cruz noted above, this isn’t a legal, orderly migration to the southern border — it’s an invasion.

Byron York, chief political correspondent at the Washington Examiner, observed that Biden isn’t actually seeking “border security negotiations” here.

"The man who broke the border says the border is broken, and he is the one to fix it. He wants the authority — which he already has — to 'shut down' the border 'when it becomes overwhelmed.'

"Even if he used it, which he likely would not, because he hasn't used the authority he already has — even if he used it, the effect would be to regularize the flow of 5,000 illegal crossers into the United States every day," he said.

"Remember in the Obama years, when officials said 1,000 a day would overwhelm the system? Now Biden wants to make 5,000 a day — OK, 4,999 — the new benchmark of what is acceptable.

"And no one should believe Biden would even enforce that. Why would Congress do such a thing?" York concluded.

There’s only one reason: Ukraine.

Biden wants to send more money and munitions to Ukraine, and Republican lawmakers said they won’t agree unless and until border security was made a part of the deal.

Not only are nearly two million illegal crossings a year not “border security,” but also these “negotiations” come at a very inopportune time for Democrats seeking to deliver more funds to Ukraine.

Five Ukrainian officials were arrested over the weekend for embezzling nearly $40 million in war funds. One was arrested at the border trying to leave the country.

And Biden wants to send them more money?

There’s something else working against Biden and Democrats: Members of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection support the Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, on this issue — not Biden.

"Rank-and-file BP agents appreciate and respect what TX has been doing to defend their state in the midst of this catastrophe that the Biden Admin has unleashed on America," the Border Patrol Union stated.

"We want to be perfectly clear, there is no fight between rank-and-file BP agents and the TX NG, Gov. Abbott, or TX DPS. It may make flashy headlines, but it simply isn't true."

Remember when Biden’s predecessor predicted that Americans would eventually get tired of winning? While that never happened, Americans sure got tired of losing under Trump’s successor.
