2022 is poised to witness one of the most significant victory sweeps in politics, in more than a decade. This will be due, in no small part to the outcome of the midterms elections.
And it will be the GOP who's doing the sweeping, making that cleanup.
Various candidates are running for the opportunity to serve their constituents in Washington, D.C., from populist newcomers to old establishment types.
However, in Maryland's District 6, a unique and extraordinary candidate has gained altitude. That candidate is the one and only 25-year-old Matthew Foldi. He now has the potential to flip the seat from longtime Democratic absentee Congressman David Trone.
Mr. Foldi has become a significant figure in conservative politics over the past few years.
At just 19 years-old, he became the youngest ever elected official in the City of Chicago, when he became the city’s 5th Ward GOP committeeman.
At that age, most young adults are barely out of high school, and just trying to survive either being in the workforce or post-secondary education environments.
Still, Matthew Foldi wanted to do more while attending the University of Chicago.
When returning home, Matthew continued to stay active in the GOP by serving as the vice president of the Montgomery County Young Republicans and the Montgomery County GOP.
However, his most well-known impact has come from honest, investigative journalism, working as a reporter for The Washington Free Beacon.
Foldi authored investigative reports outing questionable practices, reportedly by Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.
Granholm purportedly had connections to a Chinese Communist Party-influenced electric vehicle company to benefit her financially.
Foldi has also reported on the overreaching regime that is the Biden administration, being predominantly featured on conservative media such as Newsmax, Tucker Carlson Tonight, and other Fox News programs.
Since announcing his candidacy, Foldi’s campaign has focused on the issues of constituent service, securing our southern border, fighting corruption, and standing up against communist China.
Additionally, the campaign has attacked current 6th Maryland Congressional District incumbent (David Trone) for allegedly being absent from Washington, D.C. and being purportedly absent from his county offices back home.
Trone’s chronic absenteeism and lack of communication with his constituents have been a constant criticism, one that Foldi has repeatedly thrown at his potential November opponent — and rightfully so.
Matthew Foldi represents a new type of Republican.
A 25-year-old with more experience in conservative causes than some who are more than double his age, Foldi challenges an establishment, do-nothing congressman who serves only himself, and not his constituents.
Foldi makes for an an ideal candidate to be the face of the GOP — nationally.
Now, more than ever, the GOP needs a congressman serving in the halls of congress, genuinely serving the interests of the American people.
