In 2016, Americans saw a New York businessman ram through the barriers of the old guard on both the left and the right. Donald J. Trump radically altered the path of America away from big government and economic stagnation back to its constitutional roots. Economic prosperity and national pride returned through deconstructionist anti-establishment policies centered around American pride and excellence.
Trump was a disruptor. In 2022 and beyond, America is in desperate need of disruptors.
The status quo has the deliberately misnamed Voter Rights Act bearing down on America, Critical Race Theory destroying schools, open borders, rampant inflation, decimated global respect, a massive unresolved federal debt, vaccine mandates and potential future lockdowns.
Tinkering around the margins is no longer acceptable. A complete 2016-style renovation and fumigation is necessary. America needs disruptors, and we need them now.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is a disruptor. After the initial lockdowns failed, DeSantis vowed that Florida would never be locked down again. He banned all mask mandates statewide.
Newly elected Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin is a disruptor. Do not be fooled by his smile and 1950s-style “Father Knows Best” cardigan sweaters. Gov. Youngkin ran on smashing leftist mandates and began keeping his word the moment he was sworn in. He gave parents the right to opt out of all mask mandates.
While liberals tried to sue Youngkin over his executive orders, the Virginia House of Delegates quickly moved to implement his agenda legislatively. Young also quickly moved to ban CRT in schools.
Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears is a Black woman, military hero, and disruptor extraordinaire. Between them and the state’s first Hispanic Attorney General in Jason Miyares, Virginia is on the verge of a revolution not seen since the Founding Fathers chucked the tea in the harbor.
The Founding Fathers were the ultimate disruptors. “No taxation without representation” meant exactly that. These men backed up their tough talk by putting their lives on the line. They pledged "Our Lives, Our Fortunes And Our Sacred Honor."
The Founders would love Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert. When Colorado passed a series of unconstitutional gun control measures, Ms. Boebert did what any citizen would do. The mother of four children went to her local congressional town hall meeting to get answers.
When she was rudely dismissed, she ran for office and won. She is now leading the congressional charge to restore Second Amendment rights.
Brett Guillory of Houston, Texas, is seeking to join Boebert in Congress. Mr. Guillory is not a politician or high-priced lobbyist. He is a schoolteacher who is fed up at the state of American education today. He is running in the Lone Star State’s 38th congressional district on a constitutionally conservative platform.
From gun control to vaccine and mask mandates, Guillory opposes every unconstitutional infringement on individual freedom and liberty.
It is important not to confuse being disruptive with a disruptor. Disruptors seek to end corruption, not perpetuate it.
Randi Weingarten is the President of the American Federation of Teachers. She has spent the last two years helping teachers get paid while staying on strike.
Remote learning has been disruptive and destructive for America’s children, but Weingarten is not a freedom warrior. Quite the opposite, she is desperate to preserve the status quo where union leaders get rich off of questionably legal union dues.
Disruptors fight for the freedom to work. Weingarten helps her members fight for the freedom to avoid work.
Real disruptors are the Canadian truckers. They sent a trucker convoy Eastbound and Down to Ottowa, demanding an end to vaccine mandates in Canada.
A terrified Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has slandered the truckers as violent racists, to no avail. The Canadian truckers have inspired American truckers to take the cause to Washington, D.C. Without truckers, vital goods and services remain undelivered.
We must elect people like Trump, DeSantis, Youngkin, Boebert, Guillory and others who are not beholden to the system.
Like our Founders, we need leaders who are skeptical of government power and totally committed to the truth. We need leaders not motivated by money or concern for the next election cycle.
There can be no more voting for the establishment and the elites. We Americans must take back our government and our representation by electing those who are not tied to the current corrupt political establishment.
We need to elect candidates who best represent us rather than acquiescing to those in power who have hand-picked our candidates for us.
Electing true disruptors begins with being a disruptor. We must be the disruptors and elect our friends, neighbors and other trusted private citizens. We must stop electing lawyers and return to electing farmers, ranchers and yes, truckers.
Unlike our original Founding disruptors, we citizens do not need to wage a hot war. We just need to stand up tall, loud, proud and unapologetic.
