Simon Conway - Biography
Simon Conway is the afternoon drive host of News Radio 1040 WHO-AM in Des Moines, Iowa, a heritage 50,000 watt powerhouse where Ronald Reagan started his career.
With its booming signal that can be heard all across the state that hosts the first in the nation Iowa caucuses, WHO has received more Marconi Awards than any other station in the country.
A naturalized citizen of the United States, Conway was born in London, England, where his conservative beliefs were forged after experiencing the downsides of European-style socialism.
He began his professional career as a 16-year-old journalist at the Jerusalem Post in 1976. Guests on his radio program have included most of the GOP candidates for the 2012 presidential election, including former House speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Rep. Ron Paul, Rep. Michele Bachmann, Atlanta businessman Herman Cain and former Sen. Rick Santorum.
