John Budzynski - Biography
John Budzynski is a 32-year veteran of the United States Postal Service and currently serves as the consumer advocate and manager of customer relations. As consumer advocate, he is the independent voice of residential and commercial customers.
As the manager of customer relation, he provides strategic direction for consumer outreach programs, the customer response process and the operating policy for the Business Service Network — a nationwide network dedicated to providing customer service support for over 22,000 commercial postal customers. Before his current position, Budzynski was the manager of industry engagement strategy where he worked closely with the mailing industry, suppliers, and other stakeholders to advance the value of mail and to develop educational tools to communicate important initiatives impacting the mailing industry.
Budzynski and his team provided policy, strategic plans and overall management of the Postmaster General’s Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC), Postal Customer Councils (PCC), and the NationalPostal Forum (NPF).
In 2010, he became Baltimore’s 40th postmaster, where he managed of team of over 1,800 employees working in 34 stations that served 550,000 residential and business customers in Baltimore city and parts of Baltimore County. Prior to that, Budzynski was the postmaster of Alexandria, Va., and held several management positions in northern Virginia. Budzynski is a graduate of the Postal Service’s Advanced Leadership Program and Executive Leadership Program.
He has a lean six sigma executive green belt and a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. He began his postal career as a letter carrier in 1982.
