Daniel Silke - Biography
Daniel Silke is recognized as one of South Africa’s leading political economy analysts, futurists and most passionate keynote speakers. He is currently director of the Political Futures Consultancy based in Cape Town and serves an international blue-chip client list with global and African-themed political economy insights and analysis.
Silke holds a master’s degree in South African and international politics from the University of Cape Town. He has served as an elected public representative but now consults globally on topical political economy and business trends. He is the author of the book “Tracking the Future: Top Trends that will Shape South Africa and the World.”
Silke regularly appears on and contributes to CNBC Africa, ENCA, SABC, ANN7, Bloomberg, AFP, Fin24, News24, Deutsche Welle, the BBC, 702, Business Day and a host of domestic and global news sources. In 2014, Silke spoke at the prestigious World Affairs Council in Washington, D.C., on African issues. He presents regular programs for U.S. universities on global affairs and is a faculty consultant for Duke Corporate Education.
