Bernie Reeves - Biography
Bernie Reeves founded five regional publications and the Raleigh Spy Conference. His publications and columns were among the first to recognize the rise of radical scholars, the connection between de-institutionalization of the mentally ill and the resulting homelessness phenomenon. Reeves published the first accurate account of the persecution of the Duke University lacrosse players, forced the release of sealed autopsy reports in the Eve Carson murder case, won the Benjamin Fine Award for outstanding coverage of K-12 education, and ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2010.
