Petraeus N.H. Speech Fuels Presidential Speculation

Friday, 12 March 2010 05:17 PM EST

Gen. David Petraeus is headed to New Hampshire -- a move certain to fuel rumors that he’s considering a dark horse bid for president either in 2012 or 2016, according to The Hill.

The man often credited with turning the tide in the Iraq war will give a speech at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics on the campus of St. Anselm College on March 24, the Hill reported, citing the Saint Anselm Crier.

Petraeus, who has a habit of wowing both journalists and politicians with his poise and intellect, has said he's not interested in running for president. But that doesn’t stop people from talking about it.
