Argentine Stocks: Molinos Rio de La Plata, Pampa Energia and YPF

Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of the close in Buenos Aires.

The Merval Index rose 2 percent to 2,737.75.

Molinos Rio de la Plata SA (MOLI AF) advanced 3.4 percent to 30.30 pesos. Argentina’s largest food producer agreed to pay $5 million for Sipco Asesorias & Inversiones Ltda, a Chilean company with interests in local pork producers, according to a statement posted today on the website of the Buenos Aires exchange.

Pampa Energia SA (PAMP AF) rose 1.4 percent to 2.11 pesos. The Argentine holding company announced it will pay 17 million pesos ($4 million) in anticipated dividends, according to a statement posted yesterday on the website of Argentina’s securities regulator.

YPF SA (YPFD AF) gained 3.6 percent to 172 pesos, the most in five weeks. Argentina’s largest oil company discovered a deposit of conventional oil in the province of Neuquen that may contain as much as 40 million barrels of resources, the Buenos Aires-based company said in a statement yesterday.
