Texas Republican Rep.
Louie Gohmert is upset about threatening comments made about Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas in addition to Thomas’s wife Ginni at a February rally organized by the liberal group Common Cause. Attorney General Eric Holder should investigate whether the group should lose its nonprofit status, Gohmert says, according to
Politico.

“We shouldn’t have any organization, especially one that says it’s nonpartisan, out there stirring up hatred and animosity to the point that people would say, ‘Let’s string up a justice of the Supreme Court as well as his wife,’” Gohmert said.
At the rally, a reporter for the website BigGovernment.com interviewed attendees. One protestor, asked about Thomas, said, “What do we do with him? String him up. And his wife, too. Let’s get rid of Ginny.”
Common Cause released a statement last month condemning the comments.
