Walid Phares: No Weapon Against Terrorists Who Want Eternal Life

By    |   Thursday, 16 July 2015 08:45 PM EDT

There is little the United States can do to fight terrorists such as the Chattanooga shooter since they are happy to die during their attacks, Middle East expert Walid Phares says.

"We call it from our perspective a death wish. From his ideological perspective, it's getting to eternal life and all the goodies," Phares said Thursday on Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren."

The United States has no weapon against such beliefs, Phares said, except for counter-indoctrination.

"Unfortunately, the government is not in that business at this point in time," he said.

Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, 24, killed four Marines in Chattanooga before being killed by police, officials said.
