President Donald Trump Saturday tweeted a promise for a "great healthcare plan FOR THE PEOPLE," while declaring that Obamacare will "explode" eventually.
The tweet, posted just after 10:30 a.m., was Trump's first about the American Health Care Act, after the hotly contested legislation was pulled from a House floor vote on Friday after it became apparent there would not be enough votes to pass it, reports The Hill,
Trump on Friday afternoon turned the blame for the vote's failure on Democrats, telling the media that "we were very close; it was a very tight margin. We had no Democratic support, no votes from the Democrats."
He also called House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, the "losers" as "now they own Obamacare. When it explodes, which it will soon, if they got together with us and we got a real healthcare bill, I would be totally open to” working with Democrats."
Trump followed up his AHCA tweet with a message urging his followers to watch Fox News' "Justice With Judge Janine" program Saturday night.
