Trump Calls to Thank Commanding Officers of Ships Used in Syrian Missile Attack

President Donald Trump called the commanding officers of the guided-missile destroyers USS Ross and USS Porter on Sunday to thank them and their crews for their "professionalism and quick response to the tasking to conduct a cruise missile strike against Shayrat airfield in western Syria," according to the Navy's website.

The USS Ross is commanded by Cmdr. Russell Caldwell, and the USS Porter is commanded by Cmdr. Andria Slough.

The president also praised the efforts of the commanders and their crews on Twitter.
