Radio host Rush Limbaugh called for Democrat Hillary Clinton to suspend her presidential campaign during his show Tuesday after her "screw ups."

"It's time for the Republicans to stand up and say, 'Mrs. Clinton, there's too much going on with you here. There's a lot of smoke now, we think we see some flames. We think you should suspend [your campaign],'" Limbaugh said, reports The Daily Caller.

Limbaugh's comments came as he read an editorial that appeared on the website for Investor's Business Daily. Carrying the headline, "Clinton Email Scandal: It’s Time Hillary Suspended Her Campaign," the editorial made the case for Clinton to exit the race for the White House. Her campaign has been plagued by questions over her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state and the fact that more than 2,000 emails that contained classified information were stored on it.

"If the Clinton camp thinks her email scandal will die down, it's mistaken," reads the editorial. "The news will keep coming and none of it will be good for Clinton. Even if the Justice Department declines to charge her, the backlash would be harsh."

Said Limbaugh, "Investor's Business Daily thinks that Mrs. Clinton ought to be told that she should suspend her campaign to find what exactly went on with who and how much intel, classified data is out there now because of her screw ups."
