In a clear implication of having voted for Donald Trump, Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida stated that the country cannot have a president who is under FBI investigation, the Miami Herald reported.

"Nothing's changed on that," Rubio said, after casting an early vote and suggesting he supported Trump.

Taking a dig at Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton over latest developments in her email controversy, Rubio said, "Really, we can't have a president that's under FBI investigation."

Despite condemning Trump's comments about groping and kissing women, Rubio continued to support the Republican presidential candidate.

The Florida senator, who is facing his Democratic challenger Patrick Murphy in a reelection, appeared relaxed about casting his ballot for himself.

"We've had our own campaign," Rubio said. "I'm pretty confident that, irrespective of the presidential ballot, that's going to help us win."

Murphy, meanwhile, strongly showed his support for Clinton. "At the end of the day, I trust Secretary Clinton with our nuclear codes," Murphy said, according to The Palm Beach Post. "That's more than Marco Rubio can say about Donald Trump."

Rubio, who has consistently led in almost all polls, is ahead of Murphy by 5.6 percentage points in a RealClear Politics polling average.
