More than half of likely voters said the media is trying to help Democrat Hillary Clinton win the presidential election in a new poll.
According to a Rasmussen Reports survey, 56 percent of those polled said the media is on Clinton's side as she tries to defeat Republican Donald Trump. Only 26 percent said Russia is trying to influence the U.S. election in favor of Trump.
Other key findings:
- 91 percent of Trump supporters said the media is trying to help Clinton win, while 20 percent of Clinton supporters said the same;
- 56 percent of Clinton supporters said Russia is trying to help Trump win on Nov. 8;
- 54 percent said the United States' deteriorating relationship with Russia is bad for America.
The latest RealClearPolitics polling average shows Clinton with a 7-point lead over Trump in the race for president.
The U.S. and Russia have tangled over what to do in Syria. The disagreements have led to signs that Russia is preparing for an escalation of the bad blood between the two countries, including recalling Russians stationed overseas back to their home country and sending warships on a path through the English Channel.
