Rand Paul Seeks Funds to Air Anti-Clinton Commercial

By    |   Sunday, 12 April 2015 06:57 PM EDT

Kentucky Senator and 2016 GOP presidential candidate Rand Paul greeted the news of Democrat Hillary Clinton's official entry into the race with an appeal to donors to help him combat her via the airwaves.

Paul noted that as Clinton is on her way to Iowa, where he currently leads her in the polls in a head-to-head matchup.

In an email to supporters, Paul includes a one-minute anti-Clinton campaign ad he says will air in key early states including Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

"Fellow Conservative, after you watch this video, please contribute as generously as you can to my campaign's 'Stand With Rand: Defeat Hillary' Money Bomb," the email reads. "You and I both know the same media that's been attacking and SMEARING me so viciously is going to fall all over itself to fawn over her.

Clinton stands for the big government, big spending status quo, Paul says, while he stands for defeating the "Washington machine."
