Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul will be holding an online town hall event while his Republican presidential rivals debate the issues Thursday night in Charleston, South Carolina.
Paul skipped the undercard GOP debate after Fox Business Network said he couldn't be on the main stage as he has in the previous debates, saying he is not a "second-tier candidate."
Paul tweeted he'll be live at Twitter headquarters in New York to take questions from the public during the debate.
Politico reports that Paul will be taking questions on several social media platforms, though it did not specifiy which others.
"Sen. Paul has had an opportunity the last couple of days over multiple national media outlets to make his case," senior adviser Steve Munisteri told Politico.
He also made multiple media appearances on Thursday and the days leading up to debate, getting free media for not being at the debate. That included a "debate" with
"Daily Show" host Trevor Noah on Wednesday while the two sipped Kentucky bourbon.
