About two-thirds of likely American voters feel Hillary Clinton is more qualified to be president than Donald Trump, with about the same number saying the opposite in a new poll.
The Quinnipiac University survey finds that 62 percent think Clinton is better qualified to serve in the Oval Office, with 38 percent saying she is not qualified. Only 38 percent of respondents said Trump is qualified, compared to the 61 percent who said he is not.
Clinton also leads Trump in a head-to-head matchup, 48 percent to 43 percent.
Other findings from the poll:
- 55 percent think Clinton is not honest enough to be president;
- In a four-way race with the inclusion of Libertarian Gary Johnson and the Green Party's Jill Stein, Clinton leads Trump 41 percent to 39 percent;
- 68 percent believe Clinton has the experience to be president, compared to 34 percent who said the same for Trump;
- Both candidates drew 49 percent support on whether they will make the right decisions on the economy;
- Clinton beats Trump on handling immigration (51 to 46 percent), foreign policy (57 to 39 percent), and keeping Americans safe from terrorism (49 to 47 percent).
A new Los Angeles Times poll, meanwhile, concluded that Trump has a 6-point lead over Clinton in the race for president.
