It’s going to be a late night for Barack Obama and Mitt Romney campaigns, especially in Florida, where one Obama campaign adviser predicts “they’ll be counting until 2 a.m.”
The adviser told
Fox News the race is quite tight, but Obama is “holding strong” in the key battleground states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. In addition, turnout among Virginia’s black voters was better than expected, the advisor said, suggesting that could problems for Romney.
However, Republicans in Virginia predicted a thin victory for Romney. Turnout in all Virginia’s counties is high for both parties this year.
Ohio’s turnout seems to be about the same as in 2008, when more than 5.7 million people voted, said Secretary of State Jon Husted. Earlier this year, Husted said up to 5.8 million could cast ballots in the swing state.
Obama, in an interview with a Washington, D.C. television station, said he expects “we’ll end up having a president-elect come Wednesday.”
