Nearly three-quarters of the Republicans voting in New York Tuesday said that whoever wins the most delegates in primary contests before the convention should be the party's eventual nominee.

Here is the result of CNN exit polls:

If no one wins 1,237 delegates, who should be the Republican nominee?
  • The primary winner: 72 percent.
  • The best candidate: 25 percent.
Why did you vote for the candidate you did?
  • Voted for my choice: 69 percent.
  • Voted against other candidates: 30 percent.
