Sen. Chris Murphy on Twitter Saturday slammed Vice President Mike Pence for his statements on the Senate Republican plan for repealing Obamacare, saying there was "real evil" in the rate of lying going on in video of Pence speaking about the plan.
In the video excerpt, which was posted on Pence's Twitter account on Friday, the vice president says the Republicans' plan “not only expands state flexibility [on Medicaid], it ensures that every state in America has the resources you need to take care of your most vulnerable.”
Also, Pence said he and President Donald Trump share the belief that the Senate healthcare bill "strengthens and secures Medicaid for the neediest in our society."
Pence also claimed that 60,000 disabled Ohio residents are on waiting lists for home and community-based services provided through Medicaid, a statement Ohio Gov. John Kasich's office has called "not accurate."
The suggestion that the state's Medicaid expansion hurt the benefits for the developmentally disabled is "false, as it is just the opposite of what actually happened," but a Pence spokesman defended his comments.
