Mike Huckabee's Daughter Joins Trump Campaign

Donald Trump's campaign said Thursday that Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, has joined his effort for the Republican presidential nomination as a senior adviser.

Sanders managed her father's unsuccessful bid for the 2016 nomination. She is the vice president of a political strategy firm in Little Rock, Ark.

She also has worked on Huckabee's 2008 White House campaign and has worked for President George W. Bush's 2004 effort.

"I have great respect for Gov. Mike Huckabee and we have a mutual admiration for our wonderful families," Trump said. "It's great to have his daughter, Sarah, join the campaign."

Sanders said that she volunteered for the Trump campaign because "he is a champion of working families, not Washington-Wall Street elites.

"Like the other Republican candidates, Mr. Trump is pro-life, pro-marriage — and will appoint conservatives to the courts," she added. "What makes Mr. Trump my choice for president is he will break the grip of the donor class on our government and make it accountable to working families again."
