Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg wants to be Secretary of State in a Hillary Clinton White House, according to emails published Saturday by WikiLeaks.

A June 3, 2015, email from Clinton adviser Neera Tanden asked former Bloomberg spokesman and Clinton ally Howard Wolfson whether the ex-mayor was considering a presidential run, The New York Post reports.

The email also cited a Post column saying that New York Democrats had queried Bloomberg about challenging Clinton, who had announced her run in April 2015.

"I find the whole thing laughable," Wolfson said. He was Clinton's spokesman for her 2008 quest.

"OK good I was worried you were losing it," Tanden responded.

She then asked what Bloomberg might want under a Clinton administration, floating an ambassadorship post to China.

Tanden, however, worried that the position might be "way too small" for Bloomberg, according to the emails.

But Wolfson countered with secretary of state, adding that it "ain't gonna happen."

Tanden forwarded the email trail to her supervisor, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, the Post reports.

Her message included the note: "Something to know for down the road."

Bloomberg announced in March that he would not seek a White House bid and endorsed Clinton in July at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
